Institutional Registration
The 2023 NIRSA National Basketball Championships will be hosted by University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland April 14-16, 2023
Institutional Registration, allows teams, student officials, and university staff to be part of the event and gives participating university recreation programs an opportunity to support and to be recognized on a national level.
To be eligible, all registrations must be a current NIRSA institutional member.
Up to three gold, three silver, and five bronze registrations will be allowed.
The institutional registration deadline for NIRSA National Basketball is January 15, 2023. Opportunities are on a first come first serve basis.
Three team registrations
- Team division (i.e., Men’s Club, Women’s Club, Men’s Intramural or Women’s Intramural)
- Teams must register online by the March 1, 2023.
One team will have a game featured in online live stream
Invitation for one top student official to work the tournament
- Opportunity for student official to receive advanced training from top level collegiate officials and clinicians
- Student official must have officiated for at least one full season on their campus, verified by one campus professional
- Student official must have officiated at least one regional tournament for that year and receive a recommendation from the tournament Director of Officials that the student official has earned the opportunity and worked a semi or final game
- Exclusive student official training materials for the official to share with University/Department
Invitation for one university staff person to work on tournament staff
- Professional development opportunity
- Staff person needs to complete the online National Basketball staff application for placement of tournament staff
Plus:
- University recognition in tournament program
- University recognition through tournament Twitter and Facebook announcements
- University staff presents one of the Divisional Championship trophies
- Recognition at the NIRSA Annual Conference
Two team registrations
- Team division (i.e., Men’s Club, Women’s Club, Men’s Intramural or Women’s Intramural)
- Teams must register online by the March 1, 2023.
Invitation for one top student official to work the tournament
- Opportunity for student official to receive advanced training from top level collegiate officials and clinicians
- Student official must have officiated for at least one full season on their campus, verified by one campus professional
- Student official must have officiated at least one regional tournament for that year and receive a recommendation from the tournament Director of Officials that the student official has earned the opportunity and has worked either a semi or finals game
- Exclusive student official training materials for the official to share with University/Department
Invitation for one university staff person to work on tournament staff
- Professional development opportunity
- Staff person needs to complete the online National Basketball staff application for placement of tournament staff
Plus:
- University recognized in tournament program
- University/Department recognized through tournament Twitter and Facebook announcements
- University staff presents one of the Division’s All Tournament Team awards
- Recognition at the NIRSA Annual Conference
One team registration
- Team division (ie: Men’s Club, Women’s Club, Men’s Intramural or Women’s Intramural)
- Teams must register online by the March 1, 2023.
