The sun has been shining brightly this morning and while the temperature is very chilly, it is warming up very quickly!  We kick off Championship Saturday with our Open and Consolation Bracket play, and the action was intense!  A championship game is at stake, so it was time to lay it all out and play with energy.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Women’s Consolation Bracket
UNC 2, Cornell 1
A TOUGH battle throughout the game!  UNC’s Emily Fuerst had a huge strike early, sneaking one past the Cornell keeper in 1′ to take a 1-0 lead.  Cornell would rebound in the 25′.  You could hear the Cornell benching saying “go in the goal, go in the goal”. Their wish was granted by #3 Hannah Culhane.  Cornell tied up with UNC 1-1.  In the second half, both teams would go back and forth until UNC buried a second goal, sealing the deal, and a championship opportunity, for the Tar Heels.
