My, oh my! What an end to pool play! The last set of games brought out the best in our teams as they duked it out to put themselves in a good position for bracket play. Sweat dripped and sneakers squeaked and the best across the country gave it their all. Parents, friends, and spectators filled the stands to cheer their players on in their pursuit of the 2019 NIRSA National Basketball Championship title.
In the Men’s Intramural Division , the DSU Trailblazers squeaked past the SRSU Lobo Nation in a 39 – 35 nail-biter. Brock Anderson went for 15 points, 2 rebounds, and made 2 late free throws to seal the win for the Trailblazers.
In the Men’s Club Division, Wichita State University edged out Coach Yolanda and Houston Community College in a close game. Karsten Bailey led Wichita State with 16 points and 4 rebounds to put them over Houston Community College in a 48 – 43 victory.
In the Women’s Intramural Division, Missouri S&T and Hakuna Matata from the University of Central Florida went head to head in a critical game. At the half- Hakuna Matata led Missouri S&T 19015, but Missouri S&T came back to win it 36 – 29. Despite the loss, Hakuna Matata’s Darcy Latham was on fire with 7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
