As the sun was setting in the west, the 2018 NIRSA Flag Football National Tournament itself was coming to a close. There is just one little aspect that makes this tournament extra special. It is the last national tournament here in Pensacola. The 2019 National Tournament will be hosted in Round Rock, Texas for the next three years. While we are excited for the upcoming venue, we are also saddened to leave such a monumental site and host in the University of West Florida.
We would like to personally extend our warmest gratitude and deepest respect for the University of West Florida for being such gracious hosts over the last six years. The National Tournament moved to Pensacola in 2013, and since then West Florida has been the epitome of class and professionalism in terms of organizing and executing the national championship. It takes an epic staff to run such an endeavor, and the University of West Florida provided such a staff. We are indebted to and in awe of their service.
We would also like to thank the sponsors for the tournament: Whataburger, Florida Sports Foundation, and Pensacola Sports. These sponsors helped make the tournament happen, and we deeply appreciate their support.
Finally, we wish to thank all of the volunteers and participants in the national tournament. Without you, this cannot happen. We appreciate your time, effort, and commitment to working and playing in the NIRSA Championship Series.
Until next year, we hope everyone enjoyed the 2018 NIRSA Flag Football National Championship. We will see you next year, in Round Rock, Texas!
