Saturday 2:30pm Games Recap – Thinning Out The Herd

The last set of quarterfinals in the Men’s Division are underway here at Brosnaham Park, and the open division continues their pool play as the 2018 NIRSA Flag Football National Championship begins to wind down on day number three.  The sun and temperatures have remained gorgeous throughout the day.  You couldn’t ask for a better day for flag football.  We have one more hour of games before we close for the day and head into Championship Sunday.  Here are your scores for the 2:30pm groups:

Men’s Playoff

HIGHLIGHT GAME
Georgia College – 28

Texas Southern – 26

An amazing game throughout, Georgia College manages to get the upper hand over Texas Southern and slide into the final four with a 28-26 win.  Mitch Risley of Georgia College was stellar once more with three TD passes, a TD run, and an interception to lead his team to victory.  Cleve Warnock also contributed with a TD catch and an interception in the winning effort.  For Texas Southern, Robell Tocruray had an outstanding game with four TD passes, two of them to Galvanis Mbu.  Mbu also had two tackles for loss to help on the defensive side.
