10:30am Games Recap – Morning Glory

The playoff and open games continued during the 10:30am time slot, and it was nothing short of thrilling.  In the collegiate division, the women’s quarterfinal game were fast and furious, with some close games coming down to the last play.  The open division rocked and rolled with its opening start to the day.  Here are the scores for that hour:

Women’s Playoff

HIGHLIGHT GAME
Texas State – 20

Florida A&M – 13

This game came down to the last minute of the game.  With about 30 seconds left in the game, Texas State’s Briana Allen threw a strike to Sandra Richmond for the go-ahead score.  FAMU moved the ball, but in the end, Sandra Richmond of Texas State picked off a pass as time expired to secure a win and advancement in the bracket.

Texas State’s Sandra Richmond had two TD receptions and two interceptions, and Alyssa Pruess added a TD reception and a tackle for loss.  Christina Mattis of FAMU had two TD passes and Raquel Mcarthur had two TD receptions for in the loss.

HIGHLIGHT GAME
UCF – 13
Angelo State – 7

Another game that came down to the wire, both teams fought hard and were evenly matched.  With less than a minute in the game, and on 4th down and goal to go, UCF ran a trick play that saw Jazmin Rhoden throw a strike in the middle of the endzone to Tiffany Rose for a touchdown.  Angelo State moved the ball downfield after the score, but ran out of time as UCF eked its way to victory.

Sarah Fazio and Tiffany Rose each scored a TD reception for UCF, while Sydney Panzone had two tackles for loss in the victory.  Angelo State’s Jacie Klose tossed a TD pass to Lindsey Englehart for their only score of the game, and Shelbi Waller had a tackle for loss on defense.
