Thursday 6:30pm Recap – A Slick End to Day One

The Thursday 6:30pm games saw a break from the rain as it dissipated and allowed teams to continue without water being a factor… at least in drop form.  The slick were still wet from the last hour’s drizzle, which made for tricky footing thanks to the continued humidity of the night.  Teams were battling the elements and each other as the 6:30pm games came to a close.  Here’s a recap of the scores from that time:

Men’s

HIGHLIGHT GAME
Maryland – 35
Nebraska-Omaha – 31

After a disappointing first half, Maryland roared back into the game in the second half, scoring on each of their first three possessions as well as an interception for a touchdown.  All of this occurred in the third quarter, where they took a 28-25 lead over Nebraska-Omaha.  Maryland proceeded to hold off Nebraska-Omaha to come away with a 35-31 victory.

Brett Bonar tossed three TD passes for Nebraska-Omaha, while Breyden Eckhout made his defensive presence known with two interceptions.  Marco Torchia also tossed three TD passes for Maryland, and Harris Tailey caught two TD passes as well.
