Grand Canyon Downs NC A&T in Women’s IM Pool Play

The Oregon men’s club team outscored Austin Peay 37-20 in the second half to turn an 8-point halftime deficit into a 9-point win, 56-47 in pool play this morning.  Nick Cavaleri had 14 points to lead the Ducks while Phil Richmond added 9 points and 9 boards.  Robert Houston had 10 points for Austin Peay in the defeat.

Sixteen points from Valdosta State’s Jaala White was not enough as Georgia Southern defeated in-state rival VSU 41-33 in women’s intramural pool play.  Smijana Cuk had 14 points and 6 rebounds for the Eagles in the win.

Air Force used a balanced scoring attach with  11 players getting in the scorebook led by Dezmond James’s 16 points as the Falcons downed UNC Wilmington 54-44.  Austin Revels had 16 points for the Seahawks.  Brady Garcea hit a pair of three pointers in the second half to help close out Valdosta State 50-34 in another men’s club pool play game.  Garcea ended with 10 points to lead the Bulldogs.  Terrell Dirton had 12 points and 7 rebounds for the Blazers.

Loyola held off Delaware 70-61 in men’s club action behind 20 points from Calvin Kang. Dorian Thompson had 17 for the Blue Hens.

And, in a rematch of last year’s national championship game, Grand Canyon got some revenge, downing the defending champion North Carolina A&T 45-36.  Hannah Frederick had 15 points and 4 big assists to lead GCU.  La’Quanda Hordge posted 10 points for the Aggies.
