Georgia and Florida schools will battle for the men’s intramural national championship on Sunday after quarterfinal victories Saturday evening at the RPAC on the Ohio State University campus. Georgia Tech will face UCF in one semifinal while Valdosta State and Georgia Southern battle in the other on Sunday morning at 9:40 am.
Georgia Tech held off Northern Kentucky 65-62. Tech’s Zion Thomas took charge on the boards, grabbing a game-high 18 rebounds to go along with his 8 points in the victory. UCF eliminated 2016 national champion NC A&T 63-42.
Valdosta State downed Arkansas Tech 62-48. Rodrick Chandler posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Blazers. And, Georgia Southern was a 54-39 winner over Northern Colorado. Corey Hicks for the Eagles had 15 points.
