Last Second Free Throw Pushes Ivy Tech Past Prairie View

Jamar McMorris hit a free throw with 0.3 seconds left to propel Ivy Tech past Prairie View 53-52 in men’s club pool play action this afternoon.  McMorris and teammate Marc Brown ended the game with a 16 points each for the Bears in the win.  Chris Griffin had 10 points and 4 boards for PVAMU.

In other men’s club pool play games, Jake Boxleitner posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and teammate Jacob Casey added 20 points and 8 boards in Wisconsin Red’s 68-35 win over Penn.  With 18 points from John Sherlock, Penn State held off a late charge by Air Force to pick up a 54-46 pool play win.

Brent Waibel tallied a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards in Butler’s 55-46 win over Loyola in men’s club action.  And, Dayton Black turned away Oregon 58-50 behind 14 points from John Wallacd.

In men’s IM pool play, Grand Canyon mounted a second half comeback, including a 3-point play from Richard Whitehead in the final minute, to force Northern Kentucky into overtime, but NKU regrouped to down GCU 88-84 in the extra period.  Whitehead led all scorers with 24 points.  GCU’s Jacob Issac added 14 points and 5 boards in the defeat.  Michael Bueter and Kellen Smith scored 21 points apiece for NKU in the win.
