11 Games Tip Off in First Hour of NIRSA National Basketball Championships

Derek Cahn scored 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds as Texas A&M held off UNC Wilmington 60-59 in men’s club pool play action.  Jake Walton added 15 points and 7 boards for the Aggies in the win.  Jorden Hardrick hit for 20 points for the Seahawks in the losing effort.

Despite a 12-0 James Madison run to open the game, Lamar battled back to tie the game at 45 with less than a minute remaining in the contest only to see JMU notch the game’s final 2 points for a 47-45 win.  Tristan Bazemore hit four 3-pointers enroute to 14 points for the Dukes in the win.

Wisconsin Red used solid shooting from outside in the first half, then shifted to dominate in the paint after halftime to down Dayton 54-38.  Jack Meurer led the Badgers with 14 points while Jeffery Hess grabbed a team-high 7 rebounds.  Dayton’s Alfredo Roselli had 10 points for the Flyers in the defeat.

In the lone women’s game in the opening hour, Georgia Southern rallied from a halftime deficit to down North Carolina A&T 50-43 in round robin play in the women’s intramural division.  Sheniqua Young had 15 points and 6 boards to lead the Eagles.  Liesa Barnett had 10 points and a pair of rebounds for A&T.
