UCF Women Survive Texas State in OT

Teams battled each other, the rain, wind, and cold in afternoon pool play games at Ashton Brosnaham Park in Pensacola, Florida.

Defending women’s champion UCF Check on It needed overtime to get past a tough Texas State squad 12-6.  Bianca Lagos scored in OT then the UCF defense held Texas State out of the end zone on its possession for the win. UCF’s Tati DeAraujo hit Kaitlin O’Hara with a TD pass in regulation and Jayme Prinz and Breonia Fowler connected for Texas State’s touchdown. Both teams will advance to the women’s championship playoffs that begin Saturday morning.
